Following on from the Semaines Internationales de la Création Musicale, the Rencontres Internationales de la Création Musicale are designed to bring together researchers concerned with the aesthetic issues surrounding the most recent musical creations. In approaching the second quarter of the twenty-first century, musicology can no longer be content with being “twentieth-century” and must look at what is driving musical life today.
This annual meeting is therefore open to all research concerning aspects linked to creation itself, its relationship with geo-socio-political, technological, philosophical and aesthetic contexts, as well as reception, whether analytical or concerned with issues of dissemination and audiences. An important part of the program is devoted to dialogue with artists and research-creation.
